|VTS Engineering Pvt. Ltd. is a company engaged in manufacturing of Steam Turbines in the range of 1 to 5 MW. The company was first established in the year of 1988 in the name of VSN Associates, as a proprietary concery with its registered office and factory at D-16, Phase IV (Extn.) IDA Jeedimetla, Hyderabad - 500 855 with the objective of repair, reconditioning, refurbursashing overhauling of steam turbines and supply of spares to all most all sugar factories in inda, more specially those situated in Maharashtra and Karnataka.
The company was promoted by Mr. V.Brahmaiah with his wife V.Aruna as proprietor. before starting VSN Associates Mr.V.Brahmaiah was working from 1981 to 1999 with BHEL Hyderabad a Government of India Public Sector undertaking manufacturing high capacity Turbines and alternators and gained rich experience in repairs and overhauling of Turbines. With in a short period VSN Turbines gained popularity in supply of spares, rebabitting of bearings and overhauling and annual maintenance of Turbines amongst major sugar industries in Maharashtra and Karnataka.
It attracted two more industrialists Mr.Vikram C-Shah from Mumbai and Mr.J.T.Jadhav from Pune have joined the firm as partners in the year 1990 to further strengthen the working of the firm and to start manufacturing of turbines. Mr.J.T.Jadhav has a wide network as Marketing consultant amongst the co-operatives sugar industries of Maharashtra and the VSN Associates was in-corporated in the name and style of M/s.VSN Turbines Pvt. Ltd. with registrar of companies of Andhra Pradesh on 26th February 1991 with the objective of manufacture, repair and service of all kinds of industrial steam power turbines of the capacity upto 5 MW.
VSN commenced its commercial production during Sept 91. VSN obtained orders worth Rs.200 Lakhs in 1996 for manufacture of turbines with a shortest delivery period of 5 to 6 months. First turbine was successfully commissioned in 1992 and there after 3 more turbines were dispatched which have run to the satisfaction of the customers.
The company took financial support from 2 major sources for a loan of Rs.58 Lakhs from Andhra Pradesh State financial of corporation for Plant and Machinery. A working capital loan of Rs.78 lakhs from Bombay Mercantile Co-operative bank.
Impressed by the performance turbines supplied by VSN, M/s.Peter Brother hood Ltd., (PBL) of U.K. a reputed MNC manufacturing Turbines came forward to give financial and technical collaboration to VSN, Accordingly the company entered into technical and financial collaborations with M/s.PBL for the supply, erection and transfer of technology in the field of steam turbines. On entry of PBL, as collaborator the company was converted as joint venture company in the name of M/s.Peter Brother Hood Turbine Pvt. Ltd. to reflect the name of the collaborator.
As per Govt. policy the registration with National Co-operative development corporation (NCDC) was essential for doing business with co-operative sugar mills. VSN applied for the same and the prestigious registrations was obtained in the year 1997.
After joining of PBL, VSN had to discontinue the business of repairs and services as stipulated by PBL. due to time delay in NCDC registrations and due to credit squeeze policies of Government of India during that period the joint venture company could not take off at the speed and space expected.
In the mean while as per their global policy PBL, took a decision to withdraw from the joint venture as in their joint ventures world over they were incurring losses. As a result PBL dis-associated with VTN in the year 1996, especially based on Indo/Pak foreign policy of their company.
Subsequently Mr.Vikram Shah also withdrew from the company. The companies name was changed as VTS Engineering Pvt. Ltd. with 2 Directors remaining with it Mr.V.Brahmaiah and Mr. J.T.Jadhav.
Mr.Brahmaiah is executive director of VTS engineering and the main soul of VTS engineering steering the first generation company in the manufacturing of steam turbines in private sector to success. He is the major share holder. Mr.V.Brahmaiah and his family members are holding 77% shares of the company.
