Dr.Asha (Rajashree) Karkhanis heads the department of Gynaecology and Obstetrics. She is a fellow of the Royal College of Gynaecologists and Obstetricians, London. A graduate from the Grant Medical College, Mumbai, she did her post-graduation from the royal College of London. She is assisted by three other qualified lady gynaecologists.
The Department of surgery and GI surgery is headed by Dr.(Col.) Rangan. A highly skilled laparoscopic surgeon, he was also the ex-associate professor of surgery at the Armed Forces Medical College, and HOD (GI Surgery), Command Hospital, Pune. He is now a full-time consultant with the Snehal hospital.
Dr.Sachin Darne heads the Department of Paediatricss and Neo-Natology. He is a post-graduate from Mumbai, and is available round the clock for any Paediatrics emergency. The department is equipped with ventilators for premature or distressed babies, and also has baby warmers, and photo therapy units. All vaccines are administered in hospital, under the guidance of the paediatrician.
Radiological investigations, including sonography, are conducted under the able guidance of Dr.Rumie Gala and her team. Both in patients and out patients are offered the services. This facility is also available round the clock.
Pathological investigations, at very economical rates, are available within the hospital premises.
Electrocardiograms, and pulmonary function tests are done routinely as a part of the pre-operative workout.
The hospital provides a very informative free booklet to all pregnant women, to help them through their confinement, with detailed information on pregnancy, delivery, and nutrition.
Under the guidance of a physiotherapist, free ante-natal and post-natal exercises are conducted every evening, for the young mothers, between 6 and 7 PM.
Every delivery is conducted under medical supervision, and it is made pain free with frequent puffs from a non-invasive Entonox machine, or by invasive epidural analgesia, if required.
The delivery room is air condition, with the patients choice of music during delivery. The mother and the new born are monitored continuously by invasive the in house Obstetricians and Paediatricians.
The hospital has general wards, semi-special rooms, special and deluxe rooms. All rooms are well ventilated with adequate space between patient beds, as laid down by international standards.
The deluxe rooms are air conditioned, with a television, a refrigerator, a cordless phone, and an attached toilet.
The hospital has its own ambulance, which is utilized for picking up emergencies as and when needed, and for dropping needy patients after recovery.
The catering department provides meals at subsidised rates. Tea and Coffee is also available.
Next year, the hospital will be having a renal dialysis unit, which will be manned by a nephrologist.
