Having remained beyond the focus of electronics and computers, the intensity of the plastic revolution has remained less demonstrative. Yet through the passage of time, application avenues of plastics appear to have reached the state of absolute totality be it in industrial applications, commercial applications or household ones. And the plastic juggernaut appears to be unstoppable, as it rolls on, over hitherto unexplored pastures.
Plastics, A Saga of Trial and Trepidation
Seventies and eighties were in the grip of intensive industrial activity, with the bulk of them heading towards the hallowed world of plastics. The emerging scenario was to witness the sordid drama of plastics factories mushrooming all over the country being singularly driven by greed. The resultant scenario was catastrophic, with sub standard products flooding markets which in turn precipitated total erosion of credibility in plastics. This marked the beginning of change in the business and the plastics industry started restructuring itself by self imposed, stringent industrial norms.
How We Schemed our Entry
Needless to say, to begin with, we too were eager to jump into the race. However, logistical tactical, financial, marketing and managerial limitations, pre-empted us from crashing into the arena. That of course, turned out to be most critical decisions it not only saved us from disaster, but it also offered us a window to closely observe from a ringside seat, the tremulous events unfolding themselves around contemporary plastics industries. |
